Parish Meetings

The next meeting of the Headland Parish Council will be held on Monday, 25th March 2024. Please click on the ‘Parish Council Meetings’ header for more information.

Have you ever considered becoming a Parish Councillor?

Why not consider putting yourself forward to make a difference to your community? Or you can nominate someone else that you think would represent your interests and those of the Parish; so speak to your friends and neighbours to find out their thoughts.

Want to know more? Here is the small print: To stand for election to the Parish Council you must be over 18 years of age, a British subject or citizen of the Irish Republic, a commonwealth country, a UK dependent territory, or another country in the European community. You are an elector for the Headland, or have either owned property, lived or worked in the area or within 4.8kms of the boundary of the Headland throughout the 12 months immediately before your nomination. You do not work for the Parish Council, you have not been declared bankrupt within the last 5 years, and you have not been sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 3 months or more (including a suspended sentence) without the option of a fine, during the last 5 years. You do not hold a politically restricted post for another authority, and you have not been disqualified under any legislation relating to corrupt or illegal practices.

Neighbourhood Plans are a whole new approach to planning, which recognises that the best people to say where future housing, business, and community-related developments should go are the people who live, work, shop and go to school here.

We are consulting with local residents and business owners on their vision for the Headland.
